Jôyô-machi is one of the mountain areas of Yame City. In the region, there are many meticulous small-scale producers, such as Mr. Kuma, who works with reduced quantities of fertilizer and pesticide.
Thés du Japon has selected his Oku-yutaka cultivar tea. It is a late cultivar, with rich aromas that have great umami sweetness.
This sencha from Yame has the strong aromas of ripe fruit that we find in Yame teas, and its liquor is dense but not too thick, unlike many fukamushi senchas. It has aromas of cooked potatoes, but also touches of menthol, and finally a fresh green aftertaste with great mellowness.
This is an immaculate, very rich fukamushi sencha, with good length in the mouth. This Japanese green tea has its own personality but still retains the features of Yame senchas.
