In the heart of the Tenryû Mountains in western Shizuoka, Tatsuyama is famous for its terraced tea plantations.
This is a Sencha made from the Kôshun cultivar, a variety of tea plant known for its very characteristic fragrance, sometimes floral, sometimes fruity. This tea offers us a pronounced sweet, fruity aroma, with notes of marzipan.
The liquor is keen, slightly astringent at first, then mellow and aromatic, with something rustic, something very “mountain tea.” The aftertaste that develops in the mouth is rich and subtle, with the fruity scents of the Kôshun cultivar and great length.
Despite the strength of this tea, it is very pure, with no heaviness at all.
