In Gokase, Mr. Miyazaki is not only renowned for kama-iri cha, but also for his black teas.
Registered in 1993, Benifûki is a cross between Benihomare and a Chinese variety, and indisputably the star of Japanese black tea cultivars.
This black tea has a strong, sweet fragrance of vanilla, but also evokes candied fruit, such as peaches and apricots, as well as figs. In addition, there is a light floral note recalling roses.
In the mouth, the first impact is powerful and astringent. This black tea has a pronounced tannic side, giving it a very “classical” black tea aspect: efficient and elegant. Yet, the fruity aromas that develop on the palate are also characteristic of the Benifûki cultivar. As it cools, the scent of orange zest becomes apparent. The aftertaste is strong and lasting.
A robust, complex black tea, a fine example of Benifûki.
