Kawane is one of the famous mountain tea producing areas in Shizuoka, and the Moto-Fujikawa district is especially renowned. The producer, Mr. Konishi, uses only organic fertilizer and does not employ pesticides.
This Kôshun has a pleasant, sweet, floral fragrance with milky, slightly spicy notes.
The aromas are stronger in the mouth, and reveal the floral scents that are simultaneously sweet and stimulating: typical of this cultivar with a strong personality. The attack is punchy, but not too strong. There is some light astringency, and it is more in the aftertaste that a little touch of umami comes out, in addition to the unique aromas of the Kôshun cultivar.
In the second infusion, the floral aromas are milder, less aggressive, and there is greater sweetness and silkiness.
This sencha is fluid, but dense, stimulating and very aromatic: a powerful tea that does honour to the land at Moto-Fujikawa in Kawane.
