Red-orange Echizen lacquer with a modern design make this splendid little cup a versatile vessel for various alcohols, Japanese ''nihonshu'' sake, or iced tea.
The core made of extremely fine, light untreated chestnut wood from Japan. The wood is first soaked in lacquer to harden it, and then covered in two polished layers of authentic Japanese lacquer. This cup is entirely handmade according to traditional methods. (Both the wood and lacquer are from Japan.)
With warm liquid, the odor of lacquer comes out, but over time it disappears, and this lacquer ware then becomes an elegant cup for all kinds of tea, and for coffee too.

-Before use, wash the cup in warm water, dry it with a very soft cloth, and then leave the cup in a dark, well-aired place for several days. The lacquer smell will disappear completely.
However, with a warm drink, such as tea or coffee, the smell of lacquer will come out again, though it will gradually disappear over time.
-Wash with water and possibly a little dish washing liquid.
-Never rub it with anything abrasive!
-Do not put it in the dishwasher.
-Do not put it on the stove or in the microwave.
