A series of little 50 ml (1.7 oz) cups on the theme of the four seasons. This one is decorated on the inside with Japanese “asagoa” morning glory motifs, evoking the summer. Hand painted by a traditional artisan of the style of lacquer-painting known as ''maki-e.''
The gold and orange effects on the outside of the cup have, however, been created using a new hand painting technique and urethane.
These little cups are thus the results of the use of modern materials (urethane on resin and pressed wood) with time-honoured hand finishing techniques.
Given its small volume, this cup is of course ideal for Japanese ''nihonshu'' sake, but also for gyokuro.
(Unlike lacquer, urethane has the advantage of having no smell, even with very hot liquids.)

-Before use, wash the cup in warm water, dry it with a very soft cloth.
-Wash with water and possibly a little dish washing liquid.
-Never rub it with anything abrasive!
-Do not put it in the dishwasher.
-Do not put it on the stove or in the microwave.
