Oku-hikari
A cultivar for sencha developed at the Shizuoka Prefecture research centre. It is the result of crossing Yabukita and Shizu-Cy225 (a variety originally from China), and was registered in 1987. It is a late harvest tea well adapted to mountainous regions and widely grown in Kawane. This variety produces a fresh feeling and has spicy aromas that are sometimes difficult to describe.
