A cultivar selected from an indigenous “zarai” tea tree at the beginning of the twentieth century by Ômune Tôkichi, a producer from Kiyosawa in Shizuoka. This is a rare variety even though it can be found in various places in the Hon.Yama area. It is said to be sometimes mistaken for Yabukita, which it resembles. However, it is a very balanced variety, deep but lighter than Yabukita.
