Samidori
Samidori was selected in 1953 from indigenous “zarai” tea tree seeds from Uji, and should not be confused with Saemidori. It is considered to be a variety for shaded tea, used mostly for gyokuro and tencha (matcha) and virtually never found outside of Kyôto. This variety is balanced, rather light and has subtle generally citrus fragrances. Time of harvest: mid-season.
