In the mountains of Miyazaki Prefecture, near Takachiho, Hinokage is a small town that traditionally produces kama-iri cha.
Yamanami is a cultivar that was registered as a kama-iri cha variety. This cultivar was selected in Miyazaki from seeds that were brought to Japan from Hubei, China. The very unique characteristics of this cultivar has caused it to garner both fans and detractors.
This fine spring black tea delivers elegant light menthol aromas with sweet nuances of dates and jujube fruits.
In the infusion, the tea is light and has an incredibly light tannic touch. Overall, the experience is delicate and slightly sweet. The sensation is fresh, herbaceous, camphor, but also fruity.
