Mine-kaori

A cultivar for kama-iri cha developed at the Miyazaki research centre and registered in 1990. It is a Yabukita-Unkai hybrid. Through Unkai, it is related to a Caucasian variety. Designed to fully bring out the “kama-ka” fragrance typical of kama-iri chas from Kyûshû, Mine-kaori also has a characteristic aroma of cooked rice. Time of harvest: mid-season.
