The Qingxin-wulong cultivar that is emblematic of Taiwanese black teas. This cultivar has a long history and it can now be found in many places such as here in Japan, in Sashima to the northeast of Tokyo.
This summer black tea has a velvety fragrance with floral notes, evoking both spicy, tropical flowers and lavender.
While it has the necessary tannic character for a black tea on the palate, the tea is also very delicate. It initially leans towards sweetness, and then develops floral aromas in the mouth. These aromas give way to pleasant, sweet, spicy sensations.
This summer 2024 Qingxin-wulong is a lovely surprise. It is a masterfully created, aromatically interesting black tea.
