NEW Shincha 2026

Cultivar and technical information
In Kyôto Prefecture, Wazuka is the most important production zone of “tea from Uji.” An enormous proportion of shaded teas are cultivated in the region. And we notably find kabuse-cha, which is to say a tea that was shaded for 14 days.
Selected from the varieties indigenous to Uji, Gokô is one of the cultivars emblematic of Kyôto teas.

The nose
We recognize perfectly Gokô’s classic sweet fragrance, which evokes figs and has potato nuances.

The mouth
There is obviously very present umami in the tea’s very round, intense, sweet infusion. Fig aromas appear immediately. And on the palate, umami and sweet fruity aromas impress themselves persistently.
Subsequent infusions remain very intense, have less umami, but always have that sweet sensation reminiscent of vegetable stock.

Summary
We have here a very classic kabuse-cha from Uji that is representative of the Gokô cultivar. It is perfect for lovers of this style of very dense tea that is concentrated around umami.
