Located in Shiga Prefecture, just north-east of the famous Uji-tea producing areas, Uji-Tawara and Wazuka, Asamiya shares with “Uji teas” land that is renowned for senchas.
It is unusual to find the very aromatic Kôshun cultivar outside of Shizuoka. Thus, it is with great pleasure that we are offering this Kôshun cultivar sencha from the ancient tea-producing area of Asamiya.
While the dry leaves have a strong fragrance combining flowers and sweet fruit, the infused liquor is more delicate but even richer: little flowers, yellow fruit, toasted bread, almonds.
This sencha is delicate on the palate, with slight sweetness and complex aromas that re-appear in the mouth, along with very good, powerful length. This excellent green tea from Asamiya delivers the aromatic qualities of the Kôshun cultivar in a subtle, elegant manner, with no astringency or heaviness.
