Born in 1946, Iwase Kôji is a veteran Tokoname-yaki specialist.
This teapot was made slightly heavy and thick so that its surface could be polished until it shined. The spout is large, allowing it to be poured quickly. This teapot has a large volume, making it versatile and particularly well suited to teas that are infused hot.
The yohen effects are produced by covering the red clay in rice husks and firing the teapot a second time.
