This is a superb porcelain Arita-yaki shiboridashi by Nishi Takayuki. Mr. Nishi uses an original glaze technique that creates the effect of drips seeming to run down the porcelain.
This shiboridashi is ideal for teas like gyokuro, which are prepared with lots of leaves and very little water. The few drops of the very dense infusion that delicately pour from the shiboridashi are echoed by the drips of glaze.
