Now retired, Sawada Shôson the Second was one of the most famous teapot specialists in Tokoname.
He is the son of Shôson the First, engraver, and was apprenticed to Shunzan.
He was designated as a holder of important intangible cultural property for the city of Tokoname in 2008.
This teapot belongs to the very last series that he made before retiring at the age of 77.
A unique piece.
