Our boutique in Tokyo - Yanaka

After over seven years on line, Thés du Japon opened its first physical boutique on August 4, 2018 in the Yanaka neighbourhood of Tokyo. It is a place where visitors can learn about the diversity of Japan’s teas, and experience them directly. Japanese tea’s fragrances and aromas, and the way teapots feel to the touch are difficult to convey perfectly over the internet. We also hope collaborations and events in the boutique will make it a space for exchange and coming together around Japanese tea. Yanesen (the Yanaka, Nezu and Sendagi neighbourhoods) is one of the few areas that escaped the bombing during the war. It has thus retained the authentic look of Tokyo, attracting many Japanese and foreign visitors. In our boutique, we can receive you in Japanese, French or English. We have a selection of over 50 teas made using a wide variety of cultivars, but all from single estate gardens. The wide choice of unusual teas will bring joy to informed enthusiasts. It is possible to taste our teas, and we also provide beginners with guidance when choosing.
