Maekawa Junzô is the fourth generation master of the Kenzan kiln from Tokoname. Previous generations specialized in making large objects such as vases, jars and flower pots. To this list, Junzô added dinnerware and, more importantly, teapots that inevitably come to mind when thinking of Tokoname-yaki pottery.
He uses a wide variety of clays and techniques in his works, which stand out by a distinct roundness in their shape.
Here is an enchanting, small, white clay hôhin from Seto, fired at 1260℃ (2300 °F).
