Benifûki is the cultivar par excellence for Japanese black tea. It is the last one to have been registered and is by far the most widespread one. This one originates from one of the major production regions of Shizuoka tea, Shimada, which is well known for fukamushi sencha.
This black tea has all the characteristics of teas from this season and of the Benifûki variety.
Intense fragrances of fresh fruit and sweet spices strongly develop to please the nose. The fruit nuances of plums, prunes, but also grapes.
The attack in the mouth is powerful, as much in the aromas, which add citrus fruit to the fresh fruit nuances, as in the tannins.
Even if the astringency is very present, it is still very pleasant and is sure to please fans of very robust black teas.
