A cross between Kanaya-midori and Yabukita, Harumidori is a recent late harvest tea variety. In the past few years, it has garnered a lot of attention as much for its green colour as for its refined umami and typical aromas.
This sencha from Shimada is beautiful fukamushi that has a very clear first infusion and was lightly roasted.
It enchants the senses with its sweet, milky, vegetal fragrance.
In the mouth, this tea is very round, velvety, slightly thick, yet without any heaviness. The umami is very present, but not overwhelming. On the palate, the feeling is creamy, a characteristic inherited from Kanaya-midori.
In subsequent infusions, a very light astringency appears as the sweet milky aromas become even clearer.
This is a delicious, dense fukamushi sencha that is always subtle and has fresh spring sensations.
