There are few banko-yaki potters left in Yokkaichi. Thus, Otsuki Shun, born in 1992, has been the centre of attention for the past few years.
Otsuki Shun became independent in 2021. Prior to 2021, he had been working at the Tôzan workshop and has also been creating pieces on his own since 2016. A lot of his knowledge about creating kyûsu teapots is self-taught, but he has also received guidance from great potters such as Yamamoto Hiromi.
