Tanikawa Jin (Hitoshi) was born in Tokoname in 1952. He studied under the direction of Mizuno Seisen.
While Jin obviously makes kyûsu teapots, this is not the limit of his abilities. He uses a wide variety of techniques and creates pottery in many different styles. Jin is among a relatively small number of potters who create their own clay from raw material.
