Hinokage is located in the mountainous of Miyazaki Prefecture, near Takachiho.
Black teas made using the ancient Taiwanesse Qingxin-dapang (Qingxin-damao) cultivar are produced in extremely small quantity. This cultivar is also very popular in the production of oriental beauty teas.
It has a rich and wonderfully deep fragrance. The tea is initially enchanting with a delicious sweetness that evokes honey and vanilla. These sensations are followed by floral notes and subtle hints of aromatic herbs.
This is an intense, yet very round black tea without astringency. Despite being very sweet, the tea is fluid and has a certain refreshing je ne sais quoi. There are also somewhat unique floral aromas.
The presence of very different aromatic extremes makes this spring Qingxin-dapang a deep and stimulating black tea.
