While produced in Hinokage, the Kanaya-midori cultivar used for this black tea is produced in a tea garden in the neighbouring town of Takachiho. Originally from Shizuoka, Kanaya-midori is a cultivar for sencha that is famous for its creamy nuances.
This spring black tea has rich sweet dessert, honeyed, almost caramel aromas. We also clearly find the creamy nuances.
On the palate, the tea is initially light and fluid. Then the very sweet, creamy aromas appear and enchant the senses. As the tea cools, we also find sweet citrus notes.
Here is another delicious black tea that is very rich, is without astringency and highlights the characteristics of a cultivar for sencha.
