After a long career of teaching pottery in art and design schools, Hattori Takayoshi has shifted to making artisanal pottery. He has specialized in teapots and he primarily uses wood kilns. He is currently active in numerous places. In Kyûshû, he works at Kyûshû Geibunkan in Chikugo and at Ono-yaki in Yame. He also works in Tokoname where he fired teapots that we present to you here.
Takayoshi works with multiple kinds of clay, notably from Shigaraki, Bizen and Tokoname.
This teapot was made using Bizen clay.
