NEW Shincha 2026
Fresh melon
Umami★★☆☆ / Astringency★★☆☆

Here is a fukamushi-cha typical of the plains of Shizuoka, unshaded and deep steamed. This is a tea designed to produce a beautiful opaque green colour, as well as strength, flavour and fragrance.
This green tea was made from the Yamakai cultivar, in this case, harvested extremely young, for a very spring-time tea, with a fresh, vegetal, invigorating scent. It comes from Shimada, and is grown on a slope on the edge of the Makinohara Plateau, in the famous Hatsukura area.
The attack is powerful, with a nice balance between moderate umami and stimulating astringency, beginning at first with scents of hay and fresh grasses.
It is more in the aftertaste that we detect the subtle aromas of this Yamakai variety, with a rich, slightly unctuous impression of luscious fruit.
This fukamushi is also very present in the nose, with its combination of fresh, green scents and slightly unctuous fruity fragrances.
It is a fukamushi that also delivers three powerful, but not too thick, infusions: a fine example of a high-quality, unshaded classical fukamushi.
