Hôshun is a variety that was developed in Uji very recently and is still not very widespread. It was selected from seeds from the famous Samidori.
This gyokuro delivers a delicate sweet fragrance, which is simultaneously creamy and floral.
In the mouth, the tea has a very mellow, light umami without astringency. Notably, the tea delivers surprising creamy aromas, which emphasize the floral nuances.
While the umami clearly has the distinct characteristics expected of gyokuro, the umami is also relatively light. And at the same time, the exceptional aromas make the tea stand out.
