This tea chaned my entire notion of what Japanese teas could be like and I have been hooked on TdJ ever since. I was so impressed I started passing samples around to all my tea friends as a gateway to reconsider Japanese teas. The crushed cherry leaf fragrance is lovely yet contrasted by a marine quality. There’s enough complexity here to engage serious tea drinkers but not be so subtle (or overwhelming) that it could not be an everyday tea. While some teas can be challenging to understand, this kama-iri is as accessible as it is impressive.
