This is a very unique sencha, and unlike any others I have had. Personally, I thought the brewing suggestions were too aggressive, as starting at 80C and 45 seconds made the tea too bitter and astringent for me. I found more success starting at 70C with a 30 second steep. There is still bitterness and astringency there, but it is less in your face. The flavour is grassy, floral, pea-like and the bitterness tastes a bit like citrus pith. There is almost no noticeable umami, and it is a very "dry" tea in the sense of not really being sweet at all. I am glad I tried it as it is so unlike other senchas. I agree with the webpage description that it won't please everyone but is certainly very interesting.
